The Latest in Kayak Fishing
In the midst of a growing industry, Old Town has released a new line of fishing kayaks known as the Topwater Series, coming out with three new boats. Of those three, Appomattox River Company is carrying two: the Topwater 106 and Topwater 120. If you’re interested in kayak fishing, then the Topwater series may be exactly what you’re looking for.
While being both stable and compact, the Topwater boats offer top fishing performance with its trademarked DoubleU Hull. Plus, in addition to stability, these boats come with EVA foam deck pads for better traction and comfort while fishing.
However, deciding what length kayak will be best for you can be a difficult decision. It is important to weigh the pros and cons of the 10-foot-six boat versus the 12-foot boat. While the 12-footer will track better, the 10-footer is lighter-weight and more compatible. If you are leaning more towards the 106 for its compatibility, however, you will not be sacrificing the tracking as it tracks surprisingly well.
One last feature that may indicate that the Topwater boat is the fishing kayak you’ve been waiting for is the universal transducer mount. With the necessary tools and equipment, installing your favorite fish finder is easier than ever. If you need further help on installation or general information, Old Town has uploaded a very helpful video on YouTube.
