Motors, Inflatables and Steve Harvey - ICAST Day 1
The 2025 ICAST On the Water Demo in Orlando, Florida came with an overcast sky, and some rain. It was a great respite from the previous years of blazing hot temps. There were motorized kayaks, and inflatables everywhere....Oh, and Steve Harvey was here.

The water at the demo was full of motorized kayaks zipping around the North Concourse pond. Between Garmin, Minn Kota, Newport and now YakAttack, there are a lot of kayak motors available these days.
The Garmin Force Current is the latest big one at $3k price tag with lots of tech - wireless throttle and steering w/ floating remote, anchor lock, multi-band gps, integration with Plotters, create tracks to fish.

There were many Bonafide XTRs on the water with Garmin motors running.

YakAttack had their new electric Fluxdrive motor in a Hobie Pro Angler on the water. The PA had some very familiar stickers on it. The new Fluxdrive weighs 19lbs. and has 34lb thrust.

Also on the water was the new Hobie iTrek Angler with turbo fins. The iTrek comes in multiple sizes and can also handle a motor mount. It's a fun, lightweight addition to the line up. Projected retail is $2699.

Later in the day the New Product Showcase jumped off, and it gave opportunity for buyers and media to see all the new products in one spot.
The FluxJet wasn't on the water but it could be found here. With an integrated, flush mounted electric motor in the stern, this is a bit intriguing. I was disappointed that it wasn't on the water. But here is a peek:

And in the realm of hmmmm, that's interesting, a brand named Silent North had two inflatable offerings that likewise were not on the water. For your viewing pleasure.

I'll report more from the showroom floor tomorrow. ICAST is a big ole eye candy extravaganza. It's not open to the public, just the industry and media. It is always a good reminder of how much opportunity there is in the fishing industry. This is a big market.
Rumor has it that YakAttack has 50 new SKUs. The hometeam has been hustling. We'll see tomorrow what they got. And Native Watercraft has a new kayak, the Hammer. I'll get a look at that tomorrow as well. See ya then!
