Bob Taylor, founder and owner of Appomattox River Company, first met Andy Zimmerman "Zimmi" through John Shepperd and Forrest Callaway "Woody" in the summer of 1981. Andy, John and Forrest were from the Greensboro/Winston-Salem area. All four loved the New River in West Virginia since it was the best whitewater river to paddle during the summer, and they paddled together quite often.

Will it be for lake paddling? Will you float rivers? Ocean surfing? Expedition tripping? Whitewater? Fishing ? How many people will you usually take in the canoe ? Where will you store the boat ?
