2nd Annual Kayak Anglers Rendezvous

A little over a year ago, I attended the first annual Kayak Anglers Rendezvous at ARC-Hampton. I bought a fishing license the next day, something I hadn't done in a long time. The event, and the folks who attended, were awesome and made a big impression on me.

A Summer Vaca … in December

A few days after our December festivities, the Detrick family headed south (from VA) to North Myrtle Beach, SC for some much-needed relaxation and outdoor fun. Our friends, the Dudley family, joined us. You may ask, "Why go to the beach in the middle of winter?" My family and I have been heading to NMB for years, and we love the area during any season. The "off-season" is one of our favorite times to go when crowds are at a minimum and restrictions on beach kayaking have been lifted.

My 1st Full Year at Appomattox River Co., A Review

Any time you start a new job, you generally need some time to get your feet wet. I started at ARC on Memorial Day of May 2012. By that winter, I had moved up into the front office to work on our online presence and e-commerce. If I had dipped my toes in through 2012, I really jumped in, full immersion, in 2013. And while my work in the data/commerce section of the online world is thrilling to me, it does not make for interesting blog material, so I'll stick to the real fun stuff!

Kayak Fishing Rendezvous

This will be the 2nd year for the ARC Kayak Fishing Rendezvous at ARC-Hampton. The first year was a blast with around 50 people showing up. This year is shaping up nicely as well. Stay tuned for event details throughout the week. Here is a list of what is happening so far.
