ICAST Day 3 : Fishing is a Big Industry
Day 3 of ICAST burned as hot as the first two days. I spent the day trying to cover more unseen ground and backtracking to look at some things again. Following is a brief overview of what I saw. In the coming week, I'll recap ICAST with my favorites from the show.
One of my first stops on Day 3 was the Old Town Kayak and Ocean Kayak booth. They redesigned the Predator PDL Kayak and the Malibu PDL, but both still come with the same great PDL Drive System. That system comes with a 5 year warranty. Legit good.
They also released a pile of new Carlisle kayak paddles of varying price points, all with new splashy colors. They looked good.
The new colors on the Ocean Kayak Malibu PDL are sharp as well.
Next was a revisit to the Hobie booth to look at the bimini for the Passport kayak. How about a little shade?
The Hobie booth is always impressive.
Next was the Yakima booth where I spied a couple new rod holding solutions for travel. Both fly rod and conventional rods have a box.
Then I strolled over to Jackson Kayak to revisit the dog cot for your kayak and the Orion Dog Kennels they've been making. These are some beefy, rigged out crates for your dog.
Below I'll just catalog some of the sights I caught while covering the floor.
The HUk booth
The Flambeau Outdoors booth.
Stopped at the NRS booth and turned Brooks Beatty into a meme.
Oh, and I found some fish jerky from the Neptune booth. It was rather tasty.
And I also found hometown Farmville local bass fishing hero John Crews of Missile Baits! Excited to use some of the lures I got from him in the coming days.
