ICAST Day 2 : Kayak Fishing Owns the Show
Lock n Load
You can find a Live video of John Hipsher of YakAttack going over the new camera mounts. Video
A big stop on Day 2 was the Feelfree Kayaks / 3 Waters Kayaks / Jonny Boat booth. And there was a lot to see!
The Lure 10 now comes standard with removable sonar pod, and is rudder compatible with the beaver tail rudder.
The Moken series gets an upgrade with a frame seat which should elevate this local favorite and garner more interest. It looks good.
All of the Lure Overdrive kayaks are now coming with 8 Ball steering capability, which as we all know, just looks super cool!
The Feelfree Dorado stays in it's current form, and continues to shine. It has been a good seller for us this year and I don't anticipate that changing.
Next was the big reveal from this crew, The 3 Waters Big Fish 108 Pedal Kayak. It will be available this Fall at $1799 and comes with a pedal drive and the 8 Ball steering system. It looks like a tank!
And last but not least, the Jonny Boat continues to get attention. There are multiple motor mounts available to get this thing moving. There is also a trolling motor console that is debuting for the deck of the Jonny. Word on the street, this little 10ft craft is just plain fun. I like fun!
Lastly, I visited Blue Sky Boatworks to check out the new Bass 360 Angler version of their platform that comes complete with some glitter paint and lots of lights. The 360 Angler is a truly unique platform and they have just made it even more so with these additions for the Bass 360. Now this is just a Prototype, so t=some things will change, but it looks fun.
Oh, and then I stopped at the Astral booth to see the crew and discovered my wife and eldest child in the Astral catalog with their James River paddle high five!
On to Day 3! The word is Hobie 360 Angler Kayak won Best in Category and is in the running for Best in Show!
Oh, and I met a mermaid. My 5 year old will be psyched!
