Canoe Vibes, Exploration, Preservation, Trophy Kayak Fishing in RVA and Drum Hi(n)ts
Check out all the quality content coming from our community of paddlers, both whitewater kayaking and kayak fishing. Tune in, read up and get psyched. This is the Friday's Finds, where we seek to highlight some of the paddlers who call Virginia home. PaddleVa is about all of us. While some of the stuff shared in these posts will come from outside our waters, Virginia will always be the primary focus.
Spring time always pumps me full of wanderlust and this spring, as my numerical clock struck 40, that wanderlust has been thundering in my ears. The past week I've found some comfort, and motivation, in the inspirational stories below.
First Up:
Mark Vlaskamp has been working as Marketing Manager for Yak Gear for the last 4 years, and that's how we met, but it was his blog posts that made me want to shake his hand and hang out. Mark has decided to shift gears and embark on a new adventure. I'm excited to follow along. Check out his statement about this new pursuit of " new water, cool people, and cheap beer" by clicking the link below the photo.

Second Up:
I stumbled across the US National Whitewater Center presented Explore series and was instantly captivated. Check out Chapter One, the Africa story.

Third Up:
Kayak Angler web editor Ben Duchesney , Robert Field, Rex DeGuzman and Mark Vlaskap embarked on a grueling and exciting canoe adventure recently. Here is the teaser clip for what I'm sure will be an entertaining video series.
.
Fourth Up:
"Dave and Amy Freeman's A Year in the Wilderness runs September 23, 2015-September 22, 2016. Bear witness as they canoe and dog sled through the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness for a year in support of protecting the area from sulfide-ore copper mining."

Fifth Up:
Josh Dolin, local Jackson Kayak Pro, and Grant Alvis, local Hobie Fishing Pro, are Peelin' Drag Extreme Fishing, and as you've seen if you follow our Friday's Finds, they get after it! Below the photo is the link to their latest conquests. Click the link for the full scoop.

Bonus Sixth Clip:
People are always asking pro kayak anglers for info. Most of the time the info is out there. You just have to look for it. Kayak Kevin and Lee Williams, Ocean Kayak Pros, are always on fish. Buy Kayak Kevin's DVDs and many of your questions will be answered.
