Friday’s Five Finds: Chris Gragtmans, Jon Leavitt, Michoacan First Descent, Little Man – Big Fish, and Kayak Kevin Podcast #11
Every week I will scour the inter-webs for cool videos, produced by people using the awesome products we sell. Of course, preference will go to our local folks, but I'll still look outside VA. Since we stock a dizzying array of different vendors, we have a wide selection to choose from, featuring a lot of talented folks. It ought to be fun and I hope you enjoy seeing sweet paddle-sports items in action. Welcome to Friday's Five Finds!
The first video this week:
Chris Gragtmans played this video at a dealer event I recently attended. It's an awesome short focused on the Green River in NC. Chris is a super cool, hard charger who heads up Team Dagger Kayaks. He does rad stuff and still keeps a humble head on his shoulders. I've got more respect for him after meeting him this past week than I did before. Good dude, great paddler.
Products Featured:
Dagger Green Boat 11.5 Kayak - A medal winning speedster, the Green Boat was made to crush on rovers like the Green, and it does.
Astral GreenJacket Rescue PFD - The GreenJacket has been redesigned making an already awesome whitewater PFD even better.
The second video this week:
Jon Leavitt stopped in to pick up a new kayak on his way to hunt Musky on the New River. Jon is a local VA kayak angler who has been making some good videos lately. His first installment of the Musky video highlights his new kayak and gives us a little love as well. We like that. ;)
Products featured:
Wilderness Systems Ride 135 Fishing Kayak - The Ride 135 is a super stable, rock solid kayak for fishing big water, or any where you want great stability and a little extra tracking.
Accent Transformer Pro Paddle - Is it a paddle? A stand-up paddle? A stake-out pole? A camera mount? Yes, it's all of those things. This is a cool blade.
YakAttack Camera Pole and Zooka Tube - YakAttack is a great local VA company that has gone global in their appeal. They make bomber products for kayak anglers here in the USA.
The third video this week:
Dane Jackson and crew head to Mexico and the Rio Hoyo del Aire for a first descent. It seems like the Jackson crew is always getting after it in some amazing place and this is no exception.
Products featured:
Jackson Kayak - They have branched out and made a big name for themselves in the Fishing Kayak sector, but Whitewater was the beginning and they still kill it, exploring new areas and producing great content.
The fourth video of the week:
This video has been floating around the social media sphere for the past couple of days. It is awesome! It starts a little slow, but the music is good and the little man's face at the end is spectacular. Take your kids fishing.
Products Featured:
It looks like a Wilderness Systems Pungo 120 Kayak - The Pungo has a very wide cockpit and is large enough to fit a small child in the front. It is a very popular sit-inside kayak.
The fifth video of the week:
Kayak Kevin's Podcast #11 features William Ragulsky of Hurricane Kayaks, Werner Paddles, Astral sitting down with Lee Williams and Kayak Kevin, both of whom paddle Ocean Kayak and Aqua-Bound Paddles. *****These podcast videos contain adult language and awesome information. You should be warned. Have a pen and paper ready for notes and some headphones if there are kids in the room ;)
